Our 2013 Monterey Pinot Noir opens with bright aromas of strawberry and Bing cherry with just a hint of violet. Luscious flavors of raspberry, cardamom spice, and a touch of oak coincide with a well-structured and deliciously long finish.
The 2013 vintage across Monterey was an ideal growing season with the perfect conditions for bloom and fruit set. A dry winter led to a mild spring and cool summer. The extra summer fog and cloud cover allowed for an extended growing season resulting in excellent flavor concentration, good acidity, and structure.
The grapes for our 2013 Pinot Noir were selectively harvested during the early days of November. The wine underwent a 3 day cold soak followed by a 14 day fermentation after which it was left on skins for an additional 5 days. The wine was then aged with a combination of stainless steel and French oak, 15% new.
